In conjunction with the Shorewood-Troy Library we are offering a new service: Assignment Alerts!
An Assignment Alert is a way a teacher can request materials for a unit he/she is doing, multiple copies of a novel to read in class, videos, etc. We can even get materials from other libraries if we don't own them. Your school librarian has been authorize to use a school library card.
This is how a school library card would work:
- 1) You, the teacher, will need to come to get the school library loan form from the school librarian.
- 2) Fill out the form and return to the library with the subject and type of materials your requesting.
- 3) The librarian will get in touch with the public library to request the materials. It may take a few days to receive materials (plan ahead).
- 4) Once the materials are received in the school media center we will contact you by email to let you know they are in.
- 5) A detailed list of materials will be with the order and on file in the media center to help you keep track and assure all materials are returned within the allotted time. You will be responsible for any lost or damaged materials.
- 6) You will have 4 weeks to use the materials. Then simply return to them to the school media center. We will double check to see all materials are there and return them to the public library.
